We are seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to lead commercial strategy, contract management and revenue growth initiatives. This role will oversee commercial performance, negotiate with customers, suppliers and partners, and provide informed financial and commercial insight to support business objectives. The successful candidate will be commercially astute, analytical and confident managing stakeholders and cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
Commercial Manager - Key responsibilities (commercial strategy & contract management) LATAM
Develop and implement commercial strategies that support revenue, margin, profitability and market share targets.
Lead contract negotiation, drafting, review and renewal with customers, suppliers and strategic partners.
Manage commercial terms, pricing structures, payment provisions, warranties, liabilities and contractual obligations.
Oversee commercial proposals, tenders and bid submissions, ensuring accurate pricing and commercially competitive solutions.
Manage the end-to-end commercial lifecycle of projects, including mobilisation, performance monitoring, change control and close-out.
Identify, assess and mitigate commercial, contractual and financial risks in collaboration with legal, finance, sales and operational teams.
Monitor contract performance, revenue recognition, cost control, margin performance and customer commitments.
Prepare financial models, forecasts, budgets, variance analysis and commercial reports for senior leadership.
Manage claims, variations, disputes and resolution processes in a timely and commercially effective manner.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, suppliers and external stakeholders to support business growth.
Develop commercial processes, controls and reporting frameworks to improve operational efficiency and compliance.
Required skills and experience (commercial experience & negotiation)
Proven experience as a Commercial Manager, Commercial Lead or similar commercial role within a B2B, construction, engineering, technology, manufacturing or professional services environment.
Strong commercial acumen with practical knowledge of contract management, commercial law, pricing and supplier management.
Demonstrable experience in contract negotiation, bid management, change control, claims management and dispute resolution.
Track record of improving revenue, profitability, margins, commercial controls or contract performance.
Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to build financial models, analyse costs and interpret commercial and operational data.
Strong understanding of contractual risk, governance, compliance and commercial best practice.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
Experience collaborating with legal, finance, sales, procurement and operations teams.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and experienced using CRM, ERP or contract management systems.
Experience managing, mentoring or coaching commercial colleagues is desirable.
Qualifications and professional attributes (education & leadership)
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Law, Engineering, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
Professional qualification or membership, such as CIPS, CIMA, RICS, World Commerce & Contracting, or an equivalent, is desirable.
Commercially minded, pragmatic and results-driven, with strong ethical standards and sound business judgement.
Highly organised, detail-oriented and able to manage competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
Confident decision-maker with strong negotiation, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
