We are seeking an experienced Specialist Sales Representative to drive sales growth, develop customer relationships and provide expert product knowledge within a specialist market. This role will manage the full sales cycle, identify new business opportunities and deliver tailored solutions that meet customer needs. The successful candidate will be commercially driven, consultative and confident communicating with customers and internal stakeholders in a target-focused environment.
Specialist Sales Representative - Key responsibilities (sales development & customer relationships) - Victoria, Australia - Field-Based - 12 Month Fixed-Term Contract
Develop and execute territory or account sales plans to achieve revenue, margin and customer growth targets.
Identify, qualify and pursue new business opportunities across defined markets, sectors or customer accounts.
Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, distributors, partners and key decision-makers.
Deliver consultative sales presentations, product demonstrations and technical or specialist advice tailored to customer requirements.
Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting and needs analysis through to proposal, negotiation, closing and after-sales support.
Prepare accurate quotations, tenders, sales proposals and account plans in line with commercial objectives.
Work closely with marketing, customer service, technical, operations and finance teams to ensure a high-quality customer experience.
Monitor market trends, competitor activity and customer feedback to identify opportunities for product development and sales improvement.
Maintain accurate customer, opportunity and activity records within the CRM system.
Prepare regular sales forecasts, pipeline reports and performance updates for sales leadership.
Required skills and experience (specialist sales & business development)
Proven experience as a Sales Representative, Business Development Representative, Account Manager or similar customer-facing sales role.
Demonstrable success in achieving sales targets, developing new business and managing customer accounts.
Experience selling specialist, technical, medical, scientific, industrial, technology or professional products and services is advantageous.
Strong consultative selling, negotiation and relationship management skills.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex product information clearly to varied audiences.
Commercially aware with a good understanding of sales pipelines, forecasting, pricing and margin management.
Confident in using CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and digital sales tools; experience with sales analytics or ERP systems is advantageous.
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to customer sites where required.
Qualifications and professional attributes (product expertise & customer focus)
A relevant degree, diploma, or professional qualification in Business, Marketing, Science, Engineering, or a related discipline is desirable.
