Commercial Manager, Americas - Brazil, Sao Paolo - Remote - Pharmanovia
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to lead commercial planning, customer engagement and business growth across the Americas. This role will develop and implement regional commercial strategies, support product launches, optimise sales performance and strengthen relationships with customers, partners and internal stakeholders. The successful candidate will be commercially minded, analytically rigorous and experienced in navigating diverse healthcare markets across North, Central and South America.
Commercial Manager - Key responsibilities (Americas commercial strategy and growth)
Develop and implement commercial strategies and operating plans for the Americas, aligned with global objectives, market opportunities and portfolio priorities.
Lead regional commercial planning across priority markets, including market assessment, customer segmentation, channel strategy, sales objectives and resource allocation.
Identify and evaluate market opportunities, customer needs, competitor activity and emerging trends to support sustainable revenue growth.
Develop sales forecasts, budgets, performance targets and commercial scenarios for the Americas region.
Support product launches, market entry plans, lifecycle management and portfolio development activities across relevant markets.
Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors, commercial partners, healthcare providers, payers, customers and other relevant stakeholders.
Work closely with medical, regulatory, market access, finance, supply chain, legal and marketing teams to deliver integrated commercial plans.
Monitor sales performance, market share, customer activity, pricing, tender opportunities and competitive developments across the region.
Translate market insights and commercial data into clear recommendations, prioritised actions and measurable business outcomes.
Lead or support commercial negotiations, distributor management, contract discussions and partnership development in accordance with company policies.
Establish effective commercial processes, reporting standards and performance dashboards to support regional decision-making and accountability.
Present commercial plans, risks, opportunities and performance updates to senior leadership and global stakeholders.
Manage external agencies, consultants, distributors and other commercial partners as required.
Ensure all commercial activities comply with applicable laws, industry standards, company policies and ethical business practices.
Required skills and experience (commercial management and market development)
Proven experience in commercial management, sales, business development, marketing or a similar strategic role within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, healthcare or life sciences sector.
Demonstrable experience developing and executing commercial strategies across multiple markets in the Americas.
Strong understanding of healthcare markets, customer segments, distribution models, procurement processes and commercial dynamics across North, Central or South America.
Experience supporting product launches, market expansion, portfolio growth or lifecycle management activities.
Strong financial and analytical skills, with experience in forecasting, budgeting, sales analysis, business planning and performance reporting.
Ability to assess market data, customer insights, competitor activity, and commercial performance, and translate findings into practical recommendations.
Experience managing distributors, strategic partners, agencies or other external stakeholders across multiple territories.
Excellent negotiation, presentation and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and collaborate across international teams.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint; experience with CRM, sales reporting, business intelligence or commercial planning platforms is advantageous.
Availability and flexibility to work effectively across different time zones and travel within the Americas as required.
Qualifications and professional attributes (regional leadership and commercial excellence)
Degree in Business, Marketing, Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Economics, or a related discipline; a postgraduate qualification in business, commercial management, or a relevant field is desirable.
Fluency in English, both written and spoken; Spanish and/or Portuguese language skills are advantageous.
Strategic, commercially aware, and customer-focused, with a strong understanding of the relationships among market access, customer value, sales performance, and business growth.
Confident decision-maker with the ability to manage ambiguity, assess risk and prioritise opportunities across diverse markets.
Highly organised and results-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver against challenging commercial objectives.
