Global Pricing Strategy Lead & French Market Access - Paris-based - (Hybrid position: 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home)
We are seeking an experienced Global Pricing Strategy Lead to develop and implement pricing strategies across international markets, with particular responsibility for French market access. This role will shape pricing, reimbursement and market access plans, support product launches and optimise commercial value throughout the product lifecycle. The successful candidate will be analytically rigorous, commercially minded and experienced in navigating complex healthcare systems, pricing environments and stakeholder requirements.
Global Pricing Strategy Lead - Key responsibilities (global pricing & French market access)
Develop and implement global pricing strategies aligned with product value, commercial objectives, market dynamics and access requirements.
Lead pricing and market access strategy for France, including reimbursement planning, pricing submissions and engagement with relevant national and regional stakeholders.
Assess pricing, reimbursement and access implications across the product lifecycle, from early development and launch preparation through to loss of exclusivity.
Develop pricing scenarios, value propositions, gross-to-net analyses and financial models to support strategic decision-making.
Coordinate cross-functional market access, pricing and reimbursement activities with medical, regulatory, health economics, commercial, finance and legal teams.
Monitor competitor pricing, reference pricing, health technology assessment outcomes, policy developments and changes to healthcare funding models.
Support the development of evidence-generation plans, value dossiers, payer materials, and submissions that demonstrate clinical and economic value.
Provide strategic pricing and market-access input for product development, forecasting, business development, licensing, and portfolio decisions.
Lead the preparation of pricing and reimbursement submissions, negotiation materials and responses to payer or authority questions in France and other priority markets.
Establish governance, processes, and best practices for global pricing decisions, ensuring appropriate documentation, approvals, and compliance.
Present recommendations, risks and opportunities to senior leadership and influence stakeholders across global and local teams.
Manage external consultants, market access partners and other advisers as required to deliver pricing and reimbursement objectives.
Required skills and experience (pricing strategy & market access)
Proven experience in global pricing, market access, reimbursement, health economics or a similar strategic role within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device or healthcare sector.
Strong understanding of international pricing and reimbursement principles, including reference pricing, value-based pricing, tendering and healthcare budget considerations.
Demonstrable experience developing pricing and market access strategies for product launches and established products.
Detailed knowledge of the French healthcare and reimbursement environment, including experience preparing or supporting pricing and reimbursement activities with relevant French authorities and stakeholders.
Experience interpreting health technology assessment requirements and translating clinical, economic and patient evidence into compelling value propositions.
Strong financial and analytical skills, with experience developing pricing models, scenario analyses, forecasts and market assessments.
Ability to analyse complex market data, competitor activity, and policy developments, and to convert findings into practical strategic recommendations.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and collaborate across international, cross-functional teams.
Experience managing external agencies, consultants and market access partners across multiple markets.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint; experience with pricing, market access, forecasting or business intelligence platforms is advantageous.
Qualifications and professional attributes (health economics & strategic leadership)
Degree in Health Economics, Economics, Pharmacy, Life Sciences, Public Health, Business or a related discipline; postgraduate qualification in health economics, market access or a relevant field desirable.
Fluency in English and French, both written and spoken, with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders in the French market.
Strategic, commercially aware, and evidence-led, with a strong understanding of the relationships among pricing, reimbursement, patient access, and business performance.
Confident decision-maker with the ability to manage ambiguity, assess risk and prioritise competing global and local requirements.
Highly analytical and detail-oriented, with the ability to explain complex pricing and market access topics clearly to varied audiences.
